Ways to Give

The Legacy Fund

While Alaska Christian College does not currently have a traditional endowment in place, funds are regularly given in honor of or in memory of someone that enters our Legacy Fund which acts similarly to an unrestricted endowment.

The Board of Trustees resolved in prior Board action to allow this Legacy Fund to be set aside for future and reserve funds. ACC will accept any gifts to continue to grow the Legacy Fund. If a large gift was given to initiate a restricted endowment fund, the Board of Trustees would entertain such an option!

Corporate, Foundation, Matching and Stock Gifts

ACC works closely with Native corporations and other corporations in their matching funds programs. Please send all documentation to the Development Office at ACC.

ACC also has a stock exchange account with Solomon Smith Barney and can receive tax-deductible gifts of stock through that company. To find out information regarding accounts and procedures, please contact the Development Office at ACC.

Planned Giving

ACC has established our charitable planned giving program with The Covenant Trust Company. Through this ministry, the following is provided for you:

  • Trustee services for revocable living trusts and other types of charitable trusts
  • Professional investment management for individuals through Investment Management Accounts
  • Trustee services for Individual Retirement Accounts
  • Management for Covenant Endowed Trust accounts established by individuals

Covenant Trust Company representatives are available to:

  • Meet individually to review existing plans, discuss your future goals, suggest options and help you act on your plans
  • Address your concerns about providing for your future and protecting your spouse and family if something happens to you
  • Demonstrate how you may be able to leave a significant financial legacy to your family and Alaska Christian College
  • Present legacy planning workshops

There is no obligation on your part for requesting information or meeting with a Financial Services Representative and we pledge total confidentiality and privacy.

Trained Financial Services Representatives are available nationwide.

Since its inception, Alaska Christian College has benefited rural Alaska Natives who desire whole-life discipleship in the context of Christian higher education. Thousands have invested in our legacy as donors of all ages, from many places, in many sacrificial ways. Our vision is to see whole villages become healthier and respond to the message of Christ. As discipled ACC graduates are called to return to their villages, they will bring salt and light to some very difficult places. 

For our long term vision to be fulfilled, the best manner of support will be a legacy endowment from people who believe strongly in our mission. The faithful support of friends and partners like you can insure the longevity of Alaska Christian College for future generations. I am personally invested in this vision and ask you to join me in bringing hope to young Alaskans who have little hope without Christ. 

Regardless of your age or circumstance, it is never too early to begin thinking about your future! Campaigns

Alaska Christian College currently has no campaigns underway but look for our 2011 - 10th year anniversary campaign!

Scholarship Support

Alaska Christian College students are among the most impoverished in the United States. Many live on subsistence (hunting and fishing) and have limited funds to attend college.

We have established an annual scholarship fund which has grown from $20,000 our first year to nearly $200,000 during Christmas 2008. Because of this growth, many students have realized their educational and Christian formation goals because of caring individuals who seek to boost the hope of Alaskan Natives.

You may contribute specifically to the Scholarship Fund through two ways.

Give now through the website. Designate “scholarship fund.”

The Annual Christmas Tree Scholarship Fundraiser

Each fall a packet of ornaments with student’s pictures and information is sent to interested churches. From that tree, individuals contribute to the fund while “adopting” a student by giving a gift of any amount.

You can be the point person for your church in leading this fundraiser or you can give specifically to a student you find on the tree in your church!

Funding Priorities

Alaska Christian College has numerous funding needs and they are listed below in priority for those who wish to donate in specific areas.

  • Priority #1- Unrestricted giving to the General Ministry Fund
  • Priority #2- Unrestricted giving to the Student Scholarship Fund
  • Priority #3- Unrestricted giving to support ACC missionaries
  • Priority #4- Unrestricted giving to the Legacy Fund to grow reserves and liquid assets
  • Priority #5- Restricted Wish-List gifts
  • Priority #6- Restricted capital fund projects.
